Goonoght Rosemary

It's hard to believe that it's been almost two years since I entered a blog. This one is the most difficult one that could be written. Guess I'm writing it to myself, but it seems the thing to do. Last wednesday (May 30th), my dearest Rosemary was called home by God to take care of His gardens. I feel an emptiness that cannot be explained but time will ease it. I, never in my wildest dreams, expected her to pass before I would. Had things set up pretty well so that she could stay here in her house, age up to her 90's and be fairly comfortable. So much for plans made by mortals. I loved that woman with all my heart....still do and will take great memories with me. Thanks to everyone for the cards and calls...never knew we had so many friends. Dear Lord, hold her in your arms and give her eternal peace. 'Till we meet again my love.......Goodnight, sleep well.................Bob

Hard to believe it's been over six months since I entered a blog. Actually, in that span not even one memorable event has taken place. Son Bob (Quetico) has left the ivy halls of the University of Southern Indiana and is taking a position in Nashville, Tenn. Looks like I will be able to hit him up for a visit to the Grand Ol' Opery as soon as he settles in.

Daughter Connie (Ashville, NC) will celebrate her 1st anniversery with new hubby Rob next month. They are both winners...seem to be a perfect match for each other. Con is entering another body building contest. Not only in her age group, but going for overall position as well. Understand it is more of a physical fitness type...not the bulging muscles with lots of oil contest.

I have appointment with doctor tomorrow to get my stomach scoped. Think I've developed an ulcer due to use of Aleve. After some of the stuff my poor old bod has gone through, fixing an ulcer is a walk in the park.

Well, time to take Bandit (Siberian Husky) for a walk down the nature trail, along side of Juday Creek. Weather here has been over 90 last 5 days. Yesterday both dog and master found their way into the creek. Sure was a cooling respite from the heat.

Best to everything to all and P.O.R.  (Press on Regardless)

Ahhhh-there is justice after all. Evansville (Newburg) is gettin' socked with a possible 15 inches of snow while frigid South Bend is getting 0-1". There will be a come-upance for us however-friday nite and early saturday it's supposed to go to -10 degrees here. That's MINUS 10, boys ang girls. There will be very little PP'n out on the nature trail!

Had a fine time with family last weekend. Son Bob (Quetico) and daughter-in-law Mary Lou with #3 rug rat Emi are a real joy to be around. Note-Emi is #3 only in sequence of birth. She's a #1 in everything else. In about 6 or 7 years from now, lots of people will be scurrying to gain her favor. (Make 'em crawl, Emi).

Tomorrow is Dec. 23 and I'm not going to NEAR the mall. It will be a zoo with last minute shoppers.

How about this--posted a blog and didn't really say anything. Next will be elected office. With this kind of talent, I'm a sho-in to be elected!! Look out Gov. Mitch, here I come.

Haven't posted since Nov. 14 and really have not much to report. Retirees and old codgers have a sedimentry life without too many exciting events. Now that ain't all bad--when you get bored, just take a nap.

Daughter Connie with new hubby Rob were in town this week .
We spent thursday together, just "hanging out" as Connie calls it. Went to dinner at Steak and Ale. Good ol' dad picked up the tab. May have to sell the car to refurbish the checking balance. Those people sure aren't bashfull on charging! Small glasses of wine were $5.50 a pop. Wont tell you what Liz's lobster tails set us back. Really enjoyed the hamburger and beer at Logans Roadhouse with Quetico a whole lot more. Guess I'm really a good ol' red neck at heart!

Will be going down to Evansville (Newburg) next weekend. Really enjot tht gig, Granddaughter Emi , and grandson John are a real treat to have around. Not only extremely gifted, but also have the "attitude" for success that makes 'em both winners! What a trip they will take through this world. Can't even imagine things they will see and do.

Time for big event of the day. Liz has a shoping list made out and I can go over to local SuperMart and grocery shop. (Get lots of freebies at the sampling tables). Ummmm-good.

Time to scram--until next time.....                        S.O.B.

Haven't posted since august. Really live an exciting life--just too busy to Blog. (Yeah, right). But tomorrow is a BIG day. Going to have breakfast at the local Coffee Shop with my favorite son. (Also my least favorite, depending on the political winds). Will try and stick the kid with the tab--I'm extremely sneaky at that.

Purdue finally woke up--- I.U. played their usual pathetic game---N.D. got their butts waxed by Pitt. God is good ! (sorry Emi if I mean mouthed your alma mammy, but that's the way it is. When Coach Knight got fired, lost all interest in I.U.).

More tomorrow, depending on how bad I can soak Quetico........
